Park Student Fights for Music Career

Sophomore, Rashaan Price of Park University is majoring in Communications to be a broadcast analyst, however, he has dreams beyond his major that he is working towards. At 16 Price was introduced to the idea of taking music seriously. This idea came from the support of his cousin who enjoyed listening to Price rap and sing. Price's cousin was often telling him he has a bright future with music. It wasn't until he was 19 that Price was introduced to the resources he needed in order to pursue his music. He began recodring songs in his friends basement, using sing professional equipment to achieve the sound he was going for and making it possible to begin publishing his music. You can listen to Rashaans music here

There are many motives for Rashaan to work hard towards his music, one of those being his three year old daughter, Annistyn LaNae Price. When becoming a father Price made many sacrifices. Instead of playing basketball in Florida after graduating high school he stayed close to home to keep his relationship with his daughter. Price works two jobs and is a full time student so that he can provide for Annistyn. His nickname for his daughter is, Tinkerbell. His little Tinkerbell is the reason he stays so humble, kind and on the right track. Rashaan is not like most college students, rather than spending a majority of his time going out, he is working hard at his music, writing and producing new songs. All the sacrifices Price has made has certainly paid off as he has already done four public performances in the month of Septmeber. You can support and watch Rashaan perform at Club906 in Liberty, MO and Uptown Arts, located in Downtown Kansas City.
